The Fire and Emergency evacuation plan below is practiced and recorded every 3 months or when a new member of staff or children join the setting ensuring the participation of each child. The plan is reviewed after every practice and any necessary changes recorded and implemented.
In the case of a fire or emergency we will supervise the children and leave the premises via the safest, nearest exit calmly and as quickly as possible.
We will take our mobile phone/emergency contact list/register before we leave, as long as this does not compromise the safe evacuation of the premises.
Once out, we will stay out.
On arrival at the designated safe place we will then phone the Emergency Services and contact parents /carers/emergency contacts
The setting has smoke detectors, which are tested weekly. A fire blanket is in the kitchen to deal with a small fire or, if necessary, to wrap someone in.
A separate fire risk assessment is carried out and reviewed as an when required.
If you have any concerns, we will be happy to meet and discuss them with you.
